In 2014, I sent a recording of a song to Robert Elms for his programme on BBC Radio London. It concerned a song, ‘London Town’ , which my late mother Irene wrote and recorded in a booth in Selfridges department store in London in the 1950s. Robert loved the song and played excerpts of it several times over his 3-hour programme. Go to The Songs of Irene Brodie on my songs page to listen.
